Much
of our time goes into research, finding innovative new ways to
interact with sound, light, water and many other experiences that will
develop and excite the senses.
Based on a 15 year knowledgebase from our sister company
Environetics,
Magic Fountains has extended the range of popular indoor interactive
play
and sensory systems to include outdoor sensor equipment for use within
sensory gardens, learning, respite and leisure centres.
We
have introduced tough VIROWAVE™, VIROBEAM™ VIDEOBEAM™and
AURORA™ sensors that are specifically designed for the great outdoors
together with our colourful TALKITUBE™ support systems.
VIROWAVE
seismic sensors may be buried in the ground under walkways,
stepping stones, synthetic or real grass and playground soft fall graphics;
attached under a bridge or carved wooden tactile pad. They will react
to
the movement and seismic wave patterns from the body including speech
communication and tactile hand movements over textured surfaces.
VIROBEAM
is installed above the ground in our stylised flower posts or
security camera housings. As the sensor is approached it changes its
output
accordingly to vary the height of a fountain or the intesity of a light.
It can
also trigger a sound effect or lighting sequence from a precise remote
location. The active measured distance can be preset over 1M for hand
and
arm control to 5M for walking and wheelchair interactivity.
AURORA
may be attached to a plant, seat or wall; hidden inside playboxes
and playdens or outdoor play structures including our new colourful
flower
posts. It will detect the close proximity of a hand, arm or foot and
will sense
through most materials producing a pleasant surprise come rain or shine.
All three
sensors above may be configured to actuate air flow, water flow,
lighting and sound effects, or any combination. They may be used to
produce
fun elements for learning and leisure activities within themed parks,
play and
Special Needs areas. Sensors utilise a safety 12Volt DC system powered
from
transformer-isolated mains or batteries recharged from wind or solar
resources.
We designed
our original lightweight PLAYBEAM® controller so
that Special
Needs and wheelchair users can operate our fountains bubble and air
features
with ease. If a hand is moved over the invisible beam of light, it translates
these movements into fountain activity, raising and lowering the water
by
duplicating the users dexterity and coordination skills. It is available
in single
units or 3, 4, and 6 way keyboards. See our new Playbeam wand for visually
